Indeed, its was a Presidential Sunday, A beautiful Star Studded Sunday that attracted footballers, a host of pretty ladies and very Charming gentlemen to LASC’s Holden Park Arena.
Its was a Sunday to celebrate the president’s Birthday and also the team was hosted by Chief Harrison. To this End a Novelty match between Team Haliru and Team Harrison was the main scheduled to honour the president on his special day.
ASSEMBLY
The praise and worship and prayer session was led by Chief Mmiri Mbaise DBBK and he prayer for the president with regards to his birthday and said a prayer for everyone and LASC as well.
After this came the president’s thank you message to all that called, sent videos, texts and mesaaged him on his birthday, He also extended Mrs Haliru’s greetings to everyone.
Shortly after was the presentation of gifts and who better to lead the lot than the one and only Xbonny , Followed by Isaac (lalas) whose giftt was deliverd by Aliyu, then Engineer, Olu maintain, ikorobia and Ebuka all followed suit to present their gifts to the president.
LASC superstar captain St Peters announced that the President was fully kitted in DROP OFF fashion attire from Head to toe and the president looked very stunning in his outfit. The president appreciated and thanked all those who presented gifts.
Next was new intending members and we had three people
2 introduced by Mr Uche and the last a professional player introduced by Tico.
Afterwards Coach Elnino made his announcements and birthday songs followed as LASC members shook the holden park arena with their barritone voices led by Mr skills.
After the Assembly it was Game time and each team prepared for action…
Team Haliru adorned the LASC green jersey while Team Harrison wore all blue jersey….
Team Haliru consisted of President, St peters, ugo hills, Mahruf, Drobga, D law, ugohills, Oki,ikorobia, nonso, onyedika, Ayanfe, Jmd, Endy, derrick, Mr Tony, yabas, adejoh, koffi, stainless with mopol and abraham in goal.
While Team Harrison had Chief Harrison, Cece murphy, Santos, aliyu, , dorakings, chief tommy, icee cee, meyo, ikenna, olumaimtain, xbonny, happy issac, adigwe vixtor, engineer wi
The game Kicked off and it was action from the first minute with team Harrison dominating from the blast of the whistle and it was no surprise they got the opening goal from a through ball frm cece murphy to the right wing that saw santos finishing from a tight angle to make it 1-0
Team Harrison continued the press and halfway in they got the second goal through a coach Elnino easy tap in. It was 2-0 in favour of team Harrison.
But Team Haliru wouldn’t bear it any longer as they pulled one back through their Tallismanic prolific striker and Birthday boy President Haliru on the stroke of halftime….
The teams rested and can back for the second half and changes were made to both teams. Ayanfe came in for Team Haliru and turned the game on its head.
But it was Team Harrison who would have the next goal as super star Sub Xbonny put team harrison in the lead with his first touch of the ball to make it 3-1.
But Ayanfe wouldnt have it as he powered his way through the team harrison defence after receiving a through ball frm st peters to put them back in the game as he made it 3-2.
Ayanfe would go on to score the equalizer as he made it 3-3 he missed a couple of chances to win it for team Haliru as the refreee brought oroceedings to an End..
POST GAME
After a wonderful game of football, it was to time to merry and celebrate The President and the atmosphere was Electrifying and holden park came to life as the Harmony band made sure the guests were on their toes..but not after being treated to nice meals by Mrs Ngoka Kitchen and Pleasure Kitchen. There was a lot to eat and DRINK. Drinks of all colours kept coming out to keep the people grooving.
The M.O.Y. and Double Chief Tommy Nwankpa*(Eze na Nwa 1 & Iyi Atagha-ata 1 of Eziama Igbengwo)* who was the life of the party led the band around and paused to give a speech and presented a Drink to the president on behalf of chief Harrison and all the cheifs Present (Ifedioranma na Orlu and Mmrii of Mbaise) they collectively presented a bottle of Glefiddich to the president.
Chief Harrison personally presented a gold bottle of Kristal to the president also separately.
The president announced that Ctrac and a couple of his friends gave us two and a half cartons of carabao energy drink and the club thanked them. T
he president made a pronouncement that he on behalf of LASC he would be ordering 20 cartons from them in order to appreciate them for their support.
The festivities continued as the holden park arena had turned into a carnival ground and it was exciting for all those who were there ….
Worthy of note: Mr Oyinemi Gbeworo O.Y sent messages to apologise for his absence due to a family commitment he had to attend.
But in all it was a very good day.
P.S. Family no really mean person wey una dey share the same blood. But if you get people wey value and cherish you and also see you as one of them without minding your Tribe, Religion, financial or social class and una dey do things together , eat together, and dance together with one mind.
